![]() ![]() You just need to explore carefully and have 1 hero with high perception. Chests from maps can be found without them. You don't need all skills, and throughout the game you won't be able to use them before late game. But what that exacly means? You are going to be able to buy all skillbooks, some additional gear from vendors and all maps. Investing in these two abilities can give you a lot of gold. Note about gold and bartering + pickpocketing. Character: Invest few points only if maxing pickpocket ability. While exploring a lot and doing all side quests, you should be able to buy all you need without stealing / bartering. Generally, you need money to buy skillbooks and maps. You can complete game without pickpocketing and stealing. Good suplement for pickpocket because you can sell stolen items with no limits. You can buy cheaper and sell items for better price. Character or Follower: big investment into lockpicking (10 points spend, ability level 4 + 1 from item) Unless you want to depend on scroll crafting or bashing. If you invest into lockpicking points early, at almost every stage of the game, almost all locks are open for you. It works well, escpecially if you find some items improving it by 1 or 2. With crafting more than 2, more spells avaliable, chances are even lower. ![]() First you have to craft blank witchcraft scroll (20% chance, 4 other elements) and then you have less than 20% to hit specific spell. ![]() You can also try to craft them with crafting level 2. Open everything but you can find only few of these scrolls throughout the entire gameplay. Disadvantages: can't do it fast and quiet, breaks your weapon, takes time, blacksmith all the time with you. The NPC will turn to your party, and if you are all chained together, the let me check your bags will be triggered on all of your party. Sometimes it's few hits, sometimes it's like 10 minutes of bashing. 1) Have one thief and make sure he is not as a part of a party when you steal (he is NOT chained to move together with others) This is what trips you up all NPCs will notice that they have been pickpocketed. If you have a good blacksmith in your team and plenty of patience, most of the times you can sipmly bash the lock. Leave him in the Hall of Heroes, go for him only for crafting/repairing (main party points spent 0, in HoH max ability level) The point is to not allow a player to redistribute civil ability points between 7 or more characters to continuously picpocket targets until they are high and dry. Afer hall of heroes opened: Hire hero with crafting and/or blacksmithing skills and invest only into them. This is going to sound a little lame because of course more than 1 character should be able to pickpocket a target. Early game: Jahan +1/+1 is enough (0 points spent) You can craft arrows and potions and repair all items until late-game. With 2 level crafting and blackmiting (while spending only 2 points for Jahan). Jahan (follower) have "scientist" trait which gives him 1 crafting and 1 blacksmithing for free since he joins party. Characters: 0 points into both abilities Crafting weapons and armour (3 or 4 but crafting is random)Ī) I don't want to get into crafting more than necesary Crafting scrolls (need 3 or 4 but crafting is random :( ) Crafting potions (2 it is enough for most of the potions, 3 if u want to craft large healing potion) ![]() Crafting arrows for ranger (2 it's enough for most of the arrow types) Crafting magic arrows and potions is easy and works well, while crafting weapons, armour and spells is highly randomized with some really rare ingredients making it pointless. Meta-Gaming.Generally, crafting is not so good as we would like it to be. So the wise player has already stocked up huge stashes. disappear entirely from trader inventories later on (Nameless Island onwards). Oh, and due to said scaling, pixie dust and the lower tier ingredients. Pro-players use thievery to snaffle the rare ingredients used for physical (+dam/str) and flame (+crit) runes: because end-game, you'll be wanting x3 framed best runes on a lot of your gear. To expand: there is only one vendor who stocks runes / frames all the time, and his name is Tarquin and he's part of several quests that may or may not bug out entirely. Thievery isn't required for massive cash flow (use Lucky Charm + donate to get 100 influence with main traders) it's useful to get the stashes of severely limited items ingame. All NPC inventories scale with your level: meaning that that Dwarf fish dude just inside Driftwood near the Magister's dock who starts with 3k gp. ![]()
